I haven't heard much about FITS lately, so I thought I'd check and see if there were any updates. I didn't find much, unfortunately, so that leads me to believe one of three things is happening:
- Everyone is quietly using a FITS syllabus and loving it.
- Nobody is using the FITS program and loving it.
- The FAA is focusing its efforts elsewhere and so is everyone else.
Since then, I haven't heard much about FITS. I will continue to operate under FITS principles (scenario-based training, CRM/SRM and learner-centered grading) since I do think they're important. But I often wonder how many instructors have conformed to FITS, and how many are still in the dark about it all?
(FITS, by the way, is a voluntary program, and isn't required for any flight instructor, although some flight training organizations may have incorporated FITS into lesson plans for instructors already.)
Do you use FITS?
